I only saw Mark once a year, at the SVBCCA car show, but I already feel a strong sense of loss. He was a wonderful man to talk to, and each year I looked forward to seeing what amazing car he'd bring. My condolences to his family and friends.

Mark and I worked together for many years at Valley Bank, first as fellow Commercial Loan Officers and later as colleagues and friends. Mark always had a smile and a positive word and was a pleasure to know. We had many laughs, and he was the calm in stormy times. Love and prayers to Becky and all of their family.

Before we both retired, Mark and I had been banking associates for nearly 25 years, first at First Virginia Bank and later after he joined us at Valley Bank in Roanoke, Virginia. We taught each other many things-me, primarily, how to think like an auto dealer and for Mark, how to be a commercial banker. We may not have been great at either but we enjoyed the journey, none the less. Mark was one who always looked to find the best in people and I wish Becky and family peace and remembrance of a life well lived. He loved his beloved Becky above all else and it showed in everything he said and did.
