Obituary for Carolyn Ann "Carol" Reese

Carolyn Ann Hale Reese, 70, of Salem went to be with the Lord and her family in Heaven on Sunday, July 15, 2018.

Carolyn was born July 20, 1947, a daughter of the late James Henry Hale, Sr. and Virginia Caroll Hale. She loved gardening and was an antique collector. She adored her grandchildren and loved her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, David Hale and James Hale, Jr., and one sister, Francis Keaton.

Surviving are her children, Cynthia Cody and husband, Sean, Rebecca Wooldridge and husband, Tom, James Dickerson and wife, Lynn, and Stephanie White and husband, Greg; 9 grandchildren, Danielle Harmon, Zachery Dickerson, Emily Dickerson, MaKayla Dickerson, Cassie White, Christian White, Josh White, Nicholas White, and Isaiah White; great-grandchild, Caden Harmon; sister, Linda Harrell; brother, Boyd Hale; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018 at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem, with Pastor Ethan Callison officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service beginning at 12 p.m. until time of the service.
