Obituary for Judy Hemphill Bradshaw (Hemphill)

Judy Hemphill Bradshaw (Hemphill)
Judy Hemphill Bradshaw, 74, of Salem, went to be with the Lord, her parents, and now her precious “Pepper,” on Sunday, November 6, 2016.

Judy had a passion for working together with others at various places such as John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home as a hostess, the City of Salem School System as a bus aide, and various positions with both the Chamber of Commerce and the Salem Times Register. Her deepest loves, however, were her family, her friends, and her church family at Salem Wesleyan where she heartfully loved God and served others with her family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Clyde and Mary Hemphill; brother-in-law, Robert Gothard; and very special nephew, Mike Gothard.

Her surviving family includes her loving husband of over 55 years, Del Bradshaw; children, Terry Bradshaw and wife, Belinda, of Vinton and Lisa Chase and husband, Rick, of Salem; sister, Janice Gothard of Greenville, S.C.; grandchildren, Amanda Lazenby of Salem, Scott Taylor and wife, Rachel, of Salem, Cameron Taylor and girlfriend, Taylor Scott, of Roanoke, Sean Bradshaw of Northern Va., Anya Coric and husband, Matos, of Roanoke, Amber Love and fiancé, Josh Hall, of Boones Mill, Marilyn Chase of Calif., and Ricky Chase of Roanoke; great-grandchildren, Aiden Lazenby, Markis and Sebastian Coric, and Jaylah and Keeland Hall; special nieces and nephews, Judy Fehrenbacher and husband, Bob, of S.C., Jim Gothard and wife, Linda, of Mass., Jerry Gothard and wife, Dianne, of S.C., and Teresa Ernst and husband, Steve, of Ohio.

The family extends a special thanks to the Richfield Wellness & Rehab, Carilion Home Health, and Carilion Salem Family Physicians for their wonderful care.

A memorial service in celebration of Judy’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Salem Wesleyan Church with Rev. Ken Dupin officiating. A time of visitation will be shared one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made to the Salem Wesleyan Church Youth Pastor Fund at 424 Chamberlain Lane in Salem, Va. 24153. Online condolences may be expressed at www.johnmoakey.com.
