What an honor it was to welcome several of our area pastors - not for a funeral, but for an expression of appreciation for what they do for us, their congregations, and our community. May Isaiah 52:7 continue to be an encouragement.

Our funeral home in partnership with the American Red Cross welcomed a total of 28 donors (including 4 "power reds") during this year's blood drive. Thanks to all who helped in saving lives!

We brought the "fun in funeral service" to this year's Touch-A-Truck event at Greenhill Park as licensee, Jonathan Stilwell, and office assistant, Lexie Long, opened the doors to one of our industry's most recognized vehicles for kids and adults alike to take a closer look inside!

PUMPKINFEST - The pirates of John M. Oakey & Son came ashore once again at the Salem Farmer's Market to welcome trick-or-treaters across the plank for candy and prizes galore!

OUT OF THE DARKNESS WALK - We had the special honor this past Saturday to join other participants, friends, and supporters of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in the Salem - Roanoke Out Of The Darkness walk. So grateful to have been a part of such a special event. Blessings to all who came out, and to all we remembered.

Over 50 from our community enjoyed bike ramps, an obstacle course, popcorn, clown balloons, cotton candy, cornhole, minor bike repairs, and more! It may have been cloudy outside, but we were all smiles inside for our first ever blood drive! Special thanks to the nursing staff with the American Red Cross for your partnership, Cat Tedder with Our Daily Bread for providing food trays, many of our staff family members for helping with setup and registration, and especially those of you in our community who came to donate! It was a huge success, and we have plans to make this an annual event!
