Ruby Wass, 76, of Salem, passed on Monday, December 12, 2016.

She was the loving wife of her husband, Vid Wass; mother of Allen Wass, Cynthia Richards, Christine Graybill, and Debby Brauch; grandmother of Lynette Sanborn, Adrienne Wass, Andrew Graybill, William Richards, Lewis Graybill, Ryan Brauch, Maria Wass, Alexis Graybill, Sara Brauch, Julia Wass, and Ashley Richards; great-grandmother of Liam and Ilona Sanborn; and sister of Bessie Handy, Eunice Goff, Maxine Streetman, Carson Cox, and Ann Miles.

The family thanks the nursing staff at the Village on Pheasant Ridge and Carilion Roanoke Memorial for their exceptional care.

A period of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 16, 2016 in the funeral home’s chapel with Rev. Rick Elmore officiating. Interment will be private.
