Obituary for Beverly Ann Spiers

Beverly Ann Spiers, 82, of Roanoke, VA passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Caldwell Spiers; and her father, Beverly Kennon Spiers.
Beverly graduated from William Fleming High School in 1952 and worked most of her life at Norfolk & Western Railroad, from which she retired.
She loved classical and big band music, giving gifts to her friends and relatives, watching old movies, and studying biblical prophecy. In recent years she was very involved in researching her ancestry.
Beverly is survived by her brothers, Gary H. Spiers of Staunton, VA, and James K. Spiers of Fairbanks, AK; nieces, Sarah E. Spiers of Richmond, VA and Kaaren L. Stubbs of Argyle, WI; nephew, Gary H. Spiers, Jr., of Ocean Ridge, FL; great nephews, M. Scott Ratliff II and Theodore J. Spicer, both of Richmond, VA; and great niece, Millicent E. Spicer, of Richmond, VA.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 until 3 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2016 at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. Interment will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Sherwood Memorial Park, where a graveside service will be officiated by Chaplain Dave Vanderpool. Online condolences may be expressed at www.johnmoakey.com.
