Barry Alan McCune, 56, of Salem, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 7, 2016.

He was born in Roanoke on August 13, 1959, a son of the late Ray McCune and Judy Hawley McCune of Salem, and had been an area resident most of his life. Barry proudly served in U.S. Navy and was the manager of the Vinton ABC store. He was a member of the Salem Moose Lodge, enjoyed hunting, and loved his family.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Crystal Parker McCune; daughter, Courtney Lopez and husband Danny; his sister, Bonnie Crotts and husband Bugsy; step-son, Bryan Parker and granddaughter, Azura Parker; nephews, Jamie Crotts and wife Melissa, and Karl Crotts and wife Sara; a niece, Kristen Morris and husband Nick; great-nephews, Camden Crotts and Maddox Morris; great-nieces, Skylar and Hailey Crotts, and “Baby” Morris; and his longtime friend, Steve Gunter and wife Brandy.

A memorial service will be held at 11AM, Tuesday, February 15, 2016 at Salem Baptist Church. The Rev Everett Kier will officiate. Interment will follow at Fair View Cemetery where graveside Military Honors will be afforded. An online guest book is available for family and friends by visiting www.johnmoakey.com.
