Melvin Douglas McGuire, 73, of Salem, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 8, 2015.
Family remaining to cherish his memory includes his wife of 48 years, Rosemary McGuire; Daughter, Sherry McGuire; sons, Ricky McGuire and girlfriend, Leigh, and Doug and Kenny McGuire; sisters, Mary Linkous (Robert), Christine Harrell (C.P.) and Lilly Collins; brother, Kyle McGuire (Danny); numerous grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Franklin and Betty Woods McGuire, and brothers, Billy, Eugene, Ralph and Marvin.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 6 until 8 p.m. at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, June 12, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor C.P. Harrell, Jr. officiating.
Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem.
