Woodie E. 'Joe' Layman Jr.

Woodie Joe E. Layman, Jr. Woodie Joe E. Layman, Jr., 65, of Salem, VA passed away Friday, October 15, 2010. He was born December 12, 1944 in Buchanan, VA son of Woodie E. Layman, Sr. and the late Rebecca Hunt Layman. Mr. Layman was a purchasing agent for G. J. Hopkins where he dearly loved his job and co-worker family and was an avid fisherman. In addition to his father he is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Dickerson Layman; sons, Joseph Kent Layman and Lorne French Layman; brother, Marshall Layman; sisters, Pat Turner and Carolyn Hambrick and husband, Tommy; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Monday, October 18, 2010 at the chapel of John M.
