Peggy Vanburen, of Salem, lost her 27 year battle with cancer August 8, 2014. She was born in Salem, VA to the late Silas and Annie Collins. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Roanoke. Family left to cherish her memory include her husband, Denny (Dennis) Vanburen, Jr, of Salem; sons, Kim Morrell and wife Elizabeth of Houston, TX, and Keith Morrell and wife Diane of Ormond Beach, FL; grandchildren, Matthew and Cade Morrell of Houston, TX, and Annie Morrell Bryant and husband Anthony of Houston, TX. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 12, 2014 from 10:30 a.m. until noon and from 7 until 9 p.m. at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. Funeral services to honor Peggy's life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2014 in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Bryan Smith officiating.
