Wilma Jean Brown Hale

Wilma Jean Brown Hale, 67, of Salem, VA, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2013. She was born on August 5, 1945 in Salem, VA to the late Harry Lee Brown, Sr. and Allie Beckner Brown. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Lee Brown, Jr. and Jerry Wayne Brown; and three sisters, Louise Spraker, Betty Jo Harrison, and Gail Kelly. Mrs. Hale worked at Kmart in Salem for twenty plus years and was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her two daughters, Kimberly H. Vanderpyl and Karen D. Hale; two sons, Boyd C. Hale, Jr. and Kirk D. Hale; sister, Tina Gillespie; grandson, Buddy Lee Mason; other loved ones, Tracy Journell and her son, Justin; a number of nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law, Ronnie Kelly. A service celebrating her life followed by a meal will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Fort Lewis Fire Department in Salem.
