Wilma Liles Corron, who loved to be called Grandma by her grandchildren, departed her loving family peacefully and at rest on August 08, 2021, at the age of 89.
Wilma was born in Charlotte, NC on November 18, 1931, to Mary Ellen Grant and Clarence Leon Liles. Wilma was mother to Donald Carlton Corron II. She raised her child with love and devotion. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Carlton Corron, her parents, Mary Ellen and Clarence Liles, and her brother Leon Liles.
As a Computer Programmer, Wilma was known as one of the first woman in that profession and loved her job working with her clients. Her hobbies included reading, doing puzzles, watching sports with her family, and eating candy. She was an outgoing person with spunk, WITT, loved life, and never met a stranger. Those who met her fell in love with her nature.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra Liles George, son Donald Carlton Corron II, grandchildren Katherine Corron Arnder and John Parker Corron, and a great granddaughter Lydia Iris Arnder. She always wanted to be a great grandmother but was never able to meet Lydia due to COVID restrictions.
In accordance with Wilmas final wishes, no services will be held. She instead asked her family and friends to remember her as she was and to cherish those wonderful moments in the time you shared together.
A final Poem to my mother,
If roses grow in heaven,
Lord, please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my mothers arms
and tell her theyre from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for a while.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day,
but theres an ache within my heart
that will never go away.
