William Edward "Buddy" Lemon

William E. Buddy Lemon, 68, of Roanoke County, VA, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 1, 2023. He was born on May 20, 1955, to the late Bill and Ella Trail Lemon. Buddy was known to always carry the world in the most humorous way possible, always making sure he left you with a laugh and a smile. He was a selfless hard worker, always ensuring his family was provided for. He was an avid fisherman and loved working with his hands doing his carpentry work. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Billy Lemon; sisters, Martha Pierce, and Pasty Radford. Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Donna Lemon; children, Bobbie Short and husband, Tim, and Priscilla Lemon; grandchildren, Brittany (Trevor), Serenity, Dakota, Destiney, and Benjamin; great-grandchildren, Lane, Laken; sister, Libby Walters, and husband, Johnny; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family, as well as a host of special friends also survive. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 7, 2023, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, with Pastor Eddie Crabtree officiating. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem. Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
