William H. Worm Lee, 69, of Salem, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 3, 2012.
A native and life long Salemite, he was the son of the late William E. Lee and Marcella Ellis Lee. He graduated from Andrew Lewis High School and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired as a hardware sales representative following 25 years of service and was last employed by Orgill, Inc. He was a long time member of First Christian Church of Salem.
He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Linda Robertson Lee; a son, Matt Lee and his wife Tracy; daughter, Mandy Lee; two grandchildren, Conner and Savannah Lee; a brother, Larry Bugs Lee and his wife Gail, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to take this opportunity to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Virginia Veterans Care Center, Gentle Shepherd Hospice, their Church Family, employees at K & W Restaurant and the many friends who supported them and Bill during these past months. His friendly and contagious smile, and his baby blues eyes will be deeply missed.
A memorial services will be held at 11AM, Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the First Christian Church, Salem. The Rev. Dan Netting will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Military honors will be afforded by member of the Virginia Army National Guard Military Honors Team. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bills honor to the First Christian Church, 712 Front Ave Salem, VA, 24153.
