William (Bill) E. Lancaster, 58, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 28, 2013. He was born on January 25, 1955 in Christiansburg, VA to the late Arlon and Pauline Lancaster. He retired from Yokohama Tire after 31 years of faithful service and was currently working with the City of Salem in fleet management. He also was an active member of the Oak Grove Church of the Brethren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Eddie Lancaster. Surviving family includes his wife, Debra Lancaster; daughters, Kim Lancaster and Laura Craddock and husband, Jeremy; step-daughter, Kristi Anderson and husband, Brent; step-son, Travis Viars; grandchildren, Dezree, Devin, Sam, Eli, Andrew, Emma, and Nora; brother, Kenny Lancaster and wife, Darlene; sisters, Arlie Sutphin and Patsy Whitlow, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service to honor Bills life will be conducted on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 4 p.m. at the Oak Grove Church of the Brethren with Pastor Ed Woodard officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
