William Arthur Grubb, 81, of Salem, VA passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2010. He was born September 28, 1928 in Salem, VA son of the late Ammon and Gilvia Flinchum Grubb. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Rachel Richardson. Mr. Grubb retired from General Electric with 32 years of service, was a US Navy WWII Veteran, a member of Mountain Pass Baptist Church and a member of American Legion Post #3. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Jean Jerowski Grubb; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and J.D. Williams and Margie and David Twigg; sister, Sylvia Wise; four grandchildren, JenniferWilliams and fianc, Eric Cole, Jessica and Jacob Lindholm, Tammy Sumner and children and Terry Robertson, Jr.; great-grandson, Jon Lindholm; nieces and nephews, Charlotte Herbert, George Richardson, Bill Richardson, Nancy Linkous, Janet Henley, and Judy Parker; special dog, Snoopy; and numerous special friends. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, August, 21, 2010 at the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son with Rev. Jack Richards officiating. Inurnment will be private and held at a later date at Church Hill Cemetery, Salem. The family will receive friends Friday, August 20, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at John M. Oakey and Son, Salem. The family would like to give special thanks to the Virginia Veterans Care Center and Good Samaritan Hospice for all their great care and support.
