William Anthony "Billy" Akers

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of William Anthony Akers (Billy), of Roanoke Va. Passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the age of 53. He was born on August 2, 1971.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Randy Jones, and best friend, Karen Lewis.

He is survived by his parents, Mary and Butch Jones; and his children, Michelle Akers (Roger), Brandy Akers (Jason), and Crystal Mullins; and his seven grandchildren, Ari'elle Akers, Madilynn, McKenzie, and Everleigh Barber, Jenson and Jared Hall, and Ceriana Mullins; sister, Amanda Schoonover; and niece, Makenna Schoonover; and special friend, Jackie Downs and many more.

He will be remembered for his love of the great outdoors, his willingness to help others, and his love for his family and friends. His laughter and wisdom were gifts to everyone who knew him. He will be cherished by all who got to know him.

All services will be held privately with his family.
