Wilford H. 'Wick' Mills

Wilford (Wick) Herman Mills, 91, of Salem passed away February 27, 2012. He was born in Roanoke County, VA the son of the late Stanley Ward Mills and Folsom Wood Mills and was preceded in death by his brothers, Otho, Alvie, Wendell and Arnold Mills and by his sisters Ruth M. Green and Audrey Mills. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Esther M. Mills and sons David H. Mills, San Diego, CA and Carson Mills and daughter-in-law Kathy Mills, Elliston,VA.; granddaughter, Trione DePinto and husband Phil and grandson Chris Mills; great-grand daughters, Makayla and Marissa DePinto. Also surviving are his brother Clinton Mills, and sister and brother-in-law, and Irthel and Lewis Simpson; sisters-in law Norma and Frances Mills, as well as many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday at John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. Funeral service will be held at John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem on Friday, March 2, 2012 at 2 pm with Rev. Lynn Marstin officiating. The interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
