Wendy Leigh Barbour

Wendy L. Barbour, 57, of Roanoke, went walking with the angels Friday, June 2, 2017. She was born January 15, 1960 in Roanoke, a daughter of the late Dalton and Jean Barbour. Wendy loved cats, watching TV soap operas, and spending time at family gatherings where she most especially enjoyed celebrating her birthday. Most of all, she loved sharing time with her friends Debbie and Jean at Parks & Recreation. In addition to her parents, Wendy was preceded in death by her sister, Misty Barbour. She is survived by her two very best friends, Debbie and Jean, and many loving cousins. A memorial service will be conducted Friday, June 9, 2017 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home with Chaplain Dave Vanderpool officiating. Inurnment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
