Wayne Stewart Shank, 54, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 3, 2011. He was a graduate of Glenvar High School and later became a welder by trade. Wayne was a natural artist and expressed himself through his many areas of craftsmanship and especially painting. He was also quite the outdoorsman as he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and canoeing. Preceding him in death was his father, Donald Shank. His surviving family includes his mother, Nancy L. Shank; sister, Margaret Crowder and husband, Bill, who was also Waynes special brother-in-law; nephew, Steward Crowder and wife, Kristal; very special friend, Mike Byrd; and many other aunts, cousins, and friends, including his church family. A period of visitation will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem.
