Virginia S. Patterson

Virginia S. Patterson, 93, of Martinsville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 14, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy R. Patterson; sons, Daulton (Billy) and Joseph (Joe) Patterson; and siblings, Arline, Lucille, Dick, and Herbert. Her surviving family left to cherish her memory are daughters, Sylvia V. Patterson and Patsy P. Rea; brother, James O. (Boots) Smith; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great, great grandchildren. A period of visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Sunday, January 17, 2016 at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, January 18, 2016 at Sherwood Memorial Parks abbey. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The American Heart Association.
