Virginia Hall Parris

Virginia Hall Parris, 90, of Salem, passed away Monday, January 21, 2013. She was born in Salem, a daughter of the late Harry O. and Pearl Wade Hall and had been an area resident all of her life. She was an active and life long member of Central United Methodist Church where she taught kindergarten Sunday School for over thirty years. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon B. Parris, who passed away in 1997, and by a brother, William Billy Hall. She is survived by three children, Lynda Breedlove, Adrian Parris and wife Cynthia, and Diane Smith and husband Gene; two brothers, Oscar Bill Hall and Emory Hall; three sisters, Polly Crone, Barbara Harris, and Shirley Vorst; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM, Wednesday, at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem.
