Virginia Nanny Farris, 76, of Salem, went to be with her husband in Heaven on Friday, February 24, 2017.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Curtis Lee Farris, Sr.; parents, Walter and Keller Douglas Harrison; brothers, Earl and Jack Harrison; sisters, Kathryn Fulwider and Bootsie Clark; and great-grandson, Jackson Keith Nichols.
Her surviving family includes her sons, Duane Farris and wife, Carla, William Farris and wife, Twana, and Curtis L. Farris, Jr.; daughter, Virginia Finch; brother, Raymond Tiny Harrison and wife, Barbara; sister, Peggy Nimmo; grandchildren, Savannah Farris, Nikki Phelps, Steven Nichols, Bubba Farris, Morgan Dillon, and Christian Fraijo; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Clark and Gene Fulwider; and sister-in-law, Betty Harrison.
The family extends sincere thanks to Pastor Steve Parker and Living Well Church of the Nazarene for the support and kindness shown to the family throughout the years.
Periods of visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 27, 2017, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, in the funeral homes chapel with Rev. Steve Parker officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem.
