Virginia Songer Davis

Virginia Songer Davis, 73, of Salem, VA, took her first glorious steps with her heavenly father on Tuesday, July 22, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Lee and Mattie Eppling Songer; husband of 51 years, Warren Vivian Davis; son, Michael Mike Wayne Davis; brothers, Malcolm and Jack Songer; and sisters, Lois Breeding and Evelyn Williams. Mrs. Davis was a member of Wabun Revival Center and was loved by all who knew her. She loved her cats, cooking, her extended church family at Wabun Revival Center and spending time with her family and special friends. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Paul Gee of Salem; son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Hermine Davis; brothers, Eddie, Ike and Danny Songer; special and dear friends, Jeanie Westmoreland, Donna Rigney and Becky Albert; and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 24, 2014 in the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home, Salem with Reverend Andrew Draughn officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.Visitation
