Virginia (Jenny) Francisco Bohon

Virginia (Jenny) Francisco Bohon, 94, of Salem, Va., passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026.

Jenny was a longtime and active member of Salem Baptist Church. She worked for Salem City Schools and retired from Andrew Lewis Middle School, the same school she graduated from when it was a high school.

She was preceded in death by her father, Guy C. Francisco of St. Paul, Va., who died at the age of 24 after being involved in an automobile wreck in 1931; her mother and stepfather, Ada Fleming Francisco Adams and Sidney T. Adams of Salem, Va.; her husband of 59 years, Bruce E. Bohon, Sr.; sister, Peggy Francisco Fleenor; and grandchild, Taylor.

She is survived by her children, Brenda Bohon Hodges and her husband, Paul, Bruce E. Bohon, Jr. and his wife, Judy; niece, Charlotte Wimmer and her husband, Ed; nephews, Buddy Lawrence, Tommy Lawrence and his wife, Beth, and Glenn Landes and his wife, Kathy; and sister-in-law, Almeta Landes.

Special appreciation is given to Dr. Madhoun, Gentiva Hospice, Nexus Homecare, Friendship Richfield Rehab, and Cindy, her social worker at Richfield, for the love, support, and care given to Jenny and the entire Bohon family.

Jenny's life will be celebrated by family and friends on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem, Va. The period of visitation will begin at 1 p.m., and the service at 2 p.m. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Sherwood Memorial Park, also in Salem. The Rev. Heath Rickmond will officiate.
