Virgil Ray Harris Jr.

HARRIS, JR. V. Ray V. Ray Harris, Jr., 60, of Salem, VA passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018. He was born March 11, 1958 in Norfolk, VA a son of the late, Virgil Ray Harris, Sr. and Carol Umberger Harris. Ray worked for Kroger, loved playing cards and was a National Champion Card player. The pride of his life was his son, Josh, whom he always called his hero. Ray is survived by his loving son, Joshua Ryan Harris; siblings, Lynn Byrne and husband, Michael, Lisa Burchett and husband, Tom, Jack Harris and wife, JoAnne, Rachel Harris and Paul Harris; special friend and mother of Josh, Angela Ewing; earthly mom, Linda Bailey; special friends, Betty Miller, Steve Woods, Roy Jarrett and Gina and Mike Ringham; and several loving family members and friends too numerous to mention. Memorial services will be conducted Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home and Crematory, Salem, VA. 540-389-5441 with Roy Jarrett officiating.
