Vickie Thornton Ayers, 69, of Salem, Virginia, joined her mother and father in the arms of the Lord on Sunday, August 10, 2025. She leaves behind her loving husband, Tony Ayers; daughters, Angela and Billy Ciotti, Melissa and Dennis Edwards; son, Travis and Sarah Ayers; grandchildren, Bailey and Keirstin, Delaney, AJ, Michael, Brandon and Brianah; great-grandchildren, Skylar, Remington, Bryce, Axton, Emryss and Mason; brother, Rodney Belcher and family; as well as her special friend, JoAnne Buckley.

Vickie married the love of her life, Tony, over 50 years ago, They spent time building a beautiful life and family together. They found adventures they both enjoyed, whether it be on the back of a motorcycle, relaxing at the campground or listening to waves crash on the beach. Vickie was always up for a good shopping spree even if it was at Bucee's. Vickie's love for her family was shown through her actions. She never missed a little league game and was her children's biggest cheerleader. Vickie adored her grandkids and never turned down time spent babysitting. She was always there to patiently answer our endless mothering questions . Vickie's home was always warm and welcoming, and she was quick to offer up a plate of food when you showed up – she even saved her leftovers from her " Friday night dinner gang" for the dogs. She sat nightly relaxing with her husband and dogs, from Mia to JohnJohn to Snuggles and J.R. to Sassy. Vickie had a love for sewing and crafting and she had a place for everything in her home. Even after Tony made more furniture, she would always find a special place for it. Vickie is loved endlessly and will be missed deeply.
