Verna Mae Hall

Verna Mae Hall, Maw Hall, 81, of Salem, entered into eternal peace on Monday, June 22, 2015. Verna was born to the late John H. and Edith E. Hathaway. Greeting her at the Heavenly gate were her husband of 61 years, Ronald L. Hall and her very special grandson, David Michael Hall. She was also preceded in death by brothers Howard, John and William Hathaway, and sister Catharine George. Surviving to cherish her memory are sons, John T. Hall and his wife Dawn, and David Digs Hall and his wife Susie; a daughter, Kimberly Tuell and husband Kenny; five grandchildren, Sarah, Kathryn and Ronald RJ Hall, and Steven and Amy Tuell; a sister, Sarah McManigle, and many special nieces and nephews. Verna devoted her life to being a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother, a job she took very seriously. Nothing came before God or her family. Her kind and generous heart touched the lives of so many. She was a longtime devoted member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Salem. Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Friday, June 26, 2015 at the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. The Rev. Tim Gearheart will officiate. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.
