Twila Jean Frantz Gearhart

Twila Jean Frantz Gearhart 83, of Salem, went to join her husband in their heavenly home on Tuesday August 13, 2013. Twila was born in Roanoke, a daughter of the late Edgar and Alpha Frantz. She was a loving mother; grandmother; great grandmother and sister and was a life long area resident. Twila enjoyed spending time in her flower garden, and working her crosswords. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Minor W. Gearhart; and a brother, Talmedge Frantz. Left behind to cherish her memories are her two sons, Gary Gearhart and his wife, Norma, Terry Gearhart and his wife, Margaret; a daughter, Joyce Gearhart; one brother, Ira Butch Frantz; three sisters, Darlene Gearhart, Shirley Yates, and Dollie Flowers; five grandchildren, Joey, Angela, Amy, Anna, and Jacob; four great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members. She will be truly missed by her loyal companion Gypsy. The family will receive friends on Thursday August 15, 2013 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. Funeral services to honor the life of Twila Jean Frantz Gearhart will take place on Friday August 16, 2013 at 11:00AM in the funeral home chapel.Rev.Steve Parker will officiate.
