Tom Jay Clifton

Tom Jay Clifton, 83, of Salem, VA passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2015. He was born November 1, 1931 in Mullins, WV a son of the late Pierce (Doc) and Lottie Lowery Clifton. He was also preceded in death by a brother, David Clifton and a sister, Margaret Steber. Mr. Clifton served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from General Electric and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and the Blue Bird Society. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty St.Clair Clifton; son and daughter in law, Mark and Gayell Clifton; granddaughter, Allisa; siblings, Roy Clifton and wife, Barbara, Anne Smithson, Eva Clifton and Ruby Clifton; and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be conducted at 11 am Friday, July 3, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church, Salem with Rev. Stuart Carlton officiating.
