Timothy Alan 'Timmy' Newman

Timothy Timmy Alan Newman 54, A lifelong resident of Salem, went to be with his lord on Sunday October 21, 2012. Timmy was the son of Willie Cline Newman and the late Nancy Miller Newman. He worked and retired from Medeco Lock, and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting deer, turkey, and bear and had recently returned home from a striper fishing trip. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother and son, also as a caring and giving man, as he lovingly served his father as care giver for the past 2 years. Timmy leaves behind his loving wife, Trina Pruitt; son Timothy Jo Jo Newman, and wife Jennifer; daughters, Beth Widner, and Tracy Newman and her boyfriend Steven Mabe; stepson, Dustin Pruitt and his girlfriend Heather Scott. He was a loving Pa Pa to his grand children, Trevor, Parker, and Hannah Newman; brothers, David, and wife Barbara Hunter Newman, Henry, and wife Carol Blanton Newman; sisters, Donna Newman Weimer, and husband Brad, Joanne Newman Starkloff, and husband Howard; nieces, Marcie and Brittany Newman; nephews, Brad Melton, Tommy Burch, Kyle Beach, and Kristopher Newman. The family will receive friends on Monday October 22, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8, and a service to honor Timmys life will be held on Tuesday October 23, at 2:00 in the Chapel of John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home Salem, with Pastor Ben Lockhart officiating. The family requests a dress code of jeans and shirts to be worn and asks for you to consider making a donation to the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers.
