Tim Boyd

Tim Boyd, 59, of Salem, went home to be with his Lord and Heavenly family on Tuesday, December 27, 2016. He was born in Roanoke, a son of the late William H. and Juanita Puckett Boyd and had been an area resident most of his life. He was a graduate of William Fleming High School and attended Virginia Western Community College earning his certification in optometry. Tim was the owner and operator of Salem Tree and Stump Service. He enjoyed tennis, playing the guitar and singing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Boyd, and sister, Teresa Boyd. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jane Mariquita Boyd; a sister, Debbie Hall; brother, Dennis Boyd; two nieces, Emily Journell and Brittany Hall, and three nephews, Billy Journell, Jason Boyd and Randy Boyd. Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son, Salem. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Friday at the funeral home.
