Thomas Wordie Wooldridge, better known as "Tom," passed away on January 19, 2026, at the age of 80. Those who have gone before him are his parents, Wordie and Cathryn Wooldridge; his first wife, Kathy Wooldridge; and his beloved son, Chris Wooldridge, with whom he missed dearly and is now reunited.

Tom spent 38 years at CMC Supply, continuing to work even after turning 80-a true testament to his dedication and strong work ethic. Tom's life was defined by devotion to his family, strength, and a steady presence that those who knew him came to rely on. He was the most positive man you could ever know-always seeing the good in people and situations. His optimism was quiet but powerful, lifting the spirits of everyone around him. Tom was an avid reader and had a love for all sports, especially his grandson's games, NASCAR, Georgia Bulldogs and the Washington Redskins.

Tom is survived by his devoted bride, Becky Wooldridge; daughter, Erica Hibbs (Doug); daughter-in-law, Beth Wooldridge; cherished grandchildren, Ethan Deschambault and Mason Hibbs; brother Al Wooldridge (Jeanne); father-in-law, Jim Dickerson; as well as a niece, nephews, aunts, uncles, in-laws, cousins, co-workers, and many dear friends, especially the cherished ones he met through Bill and Lois. He also leaves behind his three "boys," Mango, Tango, and Gitmo, who brought him daily joy.

The family will welcome friends for a time of visitation on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. A memorial service with military honors will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Chris Kingery officiating.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Good Samaritan Hospice, and to his many friends and family, for their care, love, support and the many visits shared over the last several months.

In lieu of flowers consider making a memorial donation to the Susan S. Strauss Good Samaritan Hospice House.
