Thomas Clinton Mills

Thomas Clinton Mills, 84, of Elliston, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin Ray and Minnie Ruby Mills; his wife, Glenna Jean Mills; daughter, Teresa Mills; brother, Donald Mills; and sister, Nettie Shrader. Clinton was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from RAAP after many years of service. He is survived by his sons, Andy Mills (Tammy) and Bruce Mills (Tori); daughters, Becky Horne (Curtis) and Connie Mills; stepchildren, Vernon Wheeler, Rita Furrow, and Jackie Spangler; brothers, Kenneth (Lou), Clifton (Mary), Irvin (Maria), John (Kitty), Bill (Gloria), and Gary; sister, Imogene Hosey (Gunner); 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. The family would like to acknowledge and give a heart-filled thanks to his caregiver and daughter-in-law, Tammy Mills, for her devotion, love, and care she gave to Clinton over the years; his three special great-grandsons, Caleb, Waylon, and Big John who spent many hours playing and talking with their Papaw Clinton; special appreciation to Vanessa and Chelsey as well as Connie Mills, John and Kitty, and Spike and Cindy for all of the love and support; and a special thank you to Good Samaritan Hospice. A period of visitation will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 from 12 to 2 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. A funeral service will then begin at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at the New Mills Family Cemetery in Elliston. Pastor Eugene Mills will officiate.
