Thelma Louise Simms, 86, of Salem, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016. She was born in Nicholas County, WVA, a daughter of the late Emory and Addie McMillion Dorsey and had been a Salem area resident most of her life. She was an accomplished chef, well known throughout the area for her famous cooking, and could make magic arranging flowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Simms Hippensteel; two brothers, Samuel and Troy Dorsey and three sisters, Ruby Pomroy, Hilda Wilson and Leila Spencer. She is survived by a daughter, Macel Simms DOrsay; her son, Randall N. Simms; a sister, Bertha Akers; four grandchildren, Troy, Joshua, Levi and Kane. Also surviving are five great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 2PM, Friday, November 18, 2016 at Sherwood Memorial Park. Pastor Garnett Jr. Westmoreland will officiate.
