Thelma Irene Hagy

Thelma Irene Hagy, 81, of Roanoke, Va, went to join her Lord and late husband, Ralph, on Sunday, May 17, 2020. Before her retirement, she was a CNA at the Lutheran Home, where she loved taking care of patients until her own illness. Thelma absolutely loved chocolate, Bingo, Blackjack, and buying Lottery Tickets. She also enjoyed singing in church and square dancing. Above all, she was a loving, devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to many, of whom she will always be loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Edward and Mildred Gladine Messer Wheeler; husband of 50 plus years, Ralph William Jackson Hagy; and brother, James Ronald Wheeler. Left to cherish her memory include her children, Ralph Eddie Hagy, of Rocky Mount, Va, Cynthia Cindy Diane Beard, of Roanoke, Va., Doug Hagy and wife, Stormy, of Salem, Va., Teresa Marie McLellan and husband, Bob, of Moneta, Va., and Alvin Hagy, of Roanoke, Va.; sisters, Melda Walker, of Florida and Wanda Smith and husband, William, of Raven, Va; 12 Grandchildren, 16 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great Gandchild. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. In keeping with the familys wishes, a private graveside service will be held at East Hill Cemetery in Salem.
