Teresa Lynn "Teri" Lopez

Teresa Teri Lynn Lucas Lopez, 64, of Salem, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 17, 2022. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, on June 20, 1958, to the late Bobby J. Lucas and Genevieve S. Lucas. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Timothy Lucas, Grandparents, Douglas and Margaret Willey, and Giles and Blanche Lucas. Teri was known for her deep relationship with Jesus and her Christian faith. Teri attended Beacon Baptist Church for many years and greatly loved her pastor and church family. Many would say that Teri had never met a stranger she didnt know. Many will remember her for her beautiful smile, contagious laugh, and giving spirit. Teri had a heart of compassion for all. She loved working for the Roanoke County School Bus with special needs kids. She cared for them beyond words, and they would refer to her as Nana. Teri also enjoyed working with the Salem Rescue Squad for many years before she retired. Most of all, Teri loved being a wife, mother, and Nana to her grandkids. Teri is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, David P. Lopez. She is also survived by her daughter, Jessica M. Avis (James), and son, Christopher P. Lopez (Lydia). She was a loving and devoted Nana to her grandchildren, Shane Avis, Genevieve Lopez, Clara Lopez, Scarlett Lopez, and Tobias Lopez. Teri is survived by her brother, David Lucas (Grace), and sister Margaret Susie Worles (Parrish). Teri is also survived by her In-Laws, Gilbert Lopez, Robert Lopez, Tim Lopez (Sue), and many nieces, nephews, and friends. The Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Beacon Baptist Church in Salem, VA, with Pastor Don Woodard officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 PM to service time. Teris heart and passion were for the ministry of her son and daughter-in-law.
