Tammy Leigh Bessett

Tammy Leigh Bessett, 50, of Vinton, passed away Monday, June 22, 2015. She was born in Washington, DC, a daughter of the late Douglas E. Dooley and Barbara Smith Dooley and had been an area resident most of her life. She was a devoted and energetic mother, grandmother and friend, whose life was sadly taken too soon. Heaven now has its newest and most charismatic Angel, she will be greatly missed. She is survived by two daughters, Valerie Hawley and husband Preston, and Jillian Bessett; two granddaughters, Layla and Delaney Hawley; a grandson, Dominic Chance Hawley; a sister, Sue Anderson and husband Don as well as many extended family members and friends. The family would like to take this opportunity to express a special thank you to Tammys longtime friend and caregiver, Lynn Boynton Cassell. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary: and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM, Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Emmaus Road Community Church. Pastor Barry M. Fitzgerald will officiate. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service, beginning at 12 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice 2408 Electric Rd.
