Sylvia Gay Wise

Sylvia Gay Wise, 82 of Salem, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2013. She was born on March 1, 1930, to the late Ammon and Ogilvia Grubb. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Wise; brother, William Grubb, and her sister, Rachel Richardson. Surviving family includes her daughters, Judy Parker and Janet Henley, and her husband Eddie; two grandchildren, Holly Bates and Jason Pauley, and his wife Kim; two great-grandchildren, Matthew Bates and Sydney Bates, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 2 until 4 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son funeral home located in Salem. A funeral service honoring Ms. Wises life will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2013 in the funeral home chapel.
