Susan M. Hafey, 49, of Salem, passed away on November 14, 2012. She was born on January 29, 1963 in Radford, VA, daughter of James E. Moore, Sr. and the late Ethel Marie Nunley Moore. Susan faithfully served in the nursing profession as an ER nurse at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Chief Flight Nurse and Medical Surgical Nursing Director for Carilion, and later became the Parish Nurse at College Lutheran Church. Above all else, her Christian faith and family were so very important to her. Susan loved to cook and enjoyed good food along with time spent with her family. Susan is survived by her husband, David M. Hafey; sons, Matthew B. Sacra and his wife Lauren, and Jared W. Hafey; daughter, Marina M. Hafey; father, James E. Moore, Sr; brother, James E. Moore, Jr; two nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. The Hafey family will receive friends on Friday, November 16, 2012 from 2 until 4 pm and 6 until 8 pm at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service to honor Susans life will be conducted on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 11am, at College Lutheran Church in Salem, with Revs. William Wiecher and Wynemah Hinlicky officiating.
