Susan Elaine Beckner Doyle

Susan Elaine Beckner Doyle, 59, of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Gertrude Beckner of Salem. She is survived by her husband, Michael Doyle; two sisters, Carolyn Taylor and her husband Tom, and Barbara Pitzer and her husband Don, as well as other family members. Susan was a graduate of Glenvar High School and attended Ferrum College. She was active in Girl Scout Troop 119 and was a member of the Glenvar Band during high school. Susan had a love for animals, especially horses and cats. During her life she gave many cats and kittens a loving home. Her family would like to express their appreciation to the doctors and nurses at both Carillion and Lewis-Gale Hospitals for their care of Susan while she was so ill.
