Stewart Lee ''Stew'' Crowder

Stewart L. Stew Crowder, age 40, of Salem, Va. peacefully went to meet the Lord on Friday, June 22, 2018. He was Born on Sunday, October 30, 1977. Stew loved being outdoors and enjoyed all of Gods creation including; hiking, and lots of canoe trips on numerous rivers. He was a Northside High School class of 95 graduate, shortly after graduating he began working in electrical and HVAC fields. Stew acquired many friends during his life and had a big heart to help and encourage others along the way. This past Friday he joined his grandfather, Don Shank; Uncles, Wayne Shank, and Gary Crowder; and several others in heaven. Stewart is survived by his parents, William T. Bill and Margaret Crowder; grandmother, Nancy Shank; cousin, Eric Crowder, and family friend, Johnny Weiss and wife, Sandy; and many other family and friends. Stews life will be celebrated with a graveside service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Piedmont Cemetery 3812 Alleghany Spring Road Shawsville, Va. 24162 with Pastor Eddie Crabtree and Pastor Steve Willis officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 6 8 p.m. on Monday, June 25, 2018 at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home 305 Roanoke Boulevard, Salem, Va. 24153. The family would like to thank Pastor Eddie Crabtree and the extended church family and friends of Valley Word Church in Salem, Va., as well as close family friends, Pastor Steve Willis and wife, Shelia; and Paige Bower for all their support and encouragement.
