Steven Andrew Mullins

Steven Andrew Mullins, 62, of Salem, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2012. He was born on November 8, 1949 to the late Harold and Virginia Eunice Mullins. Steve was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Julie Stamper Mullins. He is survived by his son and namesake, Andy Mullins; and by the daughter he adored, Jamie Mullins McKibben and husband, Brandon; and his granddaughter Molly. Steve has three surviving siblings, Michael Mullins, Susan Mullins Tate and husband, Richard, and Brad Mullins and fiance, Penny Gross. Special in his life was Pamela Cabalka. He had great affection for the Stamper family as well as his nieces and nephews. Steve is survived by a group of loyal and devoted friends. Everyone seemed to know Steve or know of him. He graduated from Andrew Lewis High School in 1968, and graduated from the University of Georgia with a Business Degree in 1973. He owned Steves Famous Hot Dogs and became a very successful Commercial Realtor in the Roanoke Valley. Steve was synonymous with sports in Salem. He was a three sport letterman at Andrew Lewis and proud to be a Wolverine. Steve was a player, a coach, a mentor, and an avid fan. He was especially proud of Andys and Jamies athletic accomplishments. Steve will be remembered affectionately by all those whose lives he touched. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 12 Noon, also in the chapel, with Rev. Adrian Dowell officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.
