Steven Carlyle Conner

Steven Carlyle Conner, 68, of Salem, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, December 18, 2020. He was born in Roanoke, a son of the late Elmo and Mary Rhodes Conner and was an area resident all his life. He proudly served his country in Vietnam, in the United States Marine Corps, and was Honorably Discharged following the war. Steve was employed as a HVAC Technician for many years and enjoyed going to the shooting range, fishing and road trips, most of all, he enjoyed doing these things with, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Martha Reynolds Conner; a son, Steven Wayne Conner; his daughter, Jenny Conner and her husband Steve Obenshain; grandchildren, Victoria Conner and Scott Addair, Nick Conner and Chris Conner; a brother, Thomas Daniel Conner; brother-in-law, Daniel Madison; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Fisher, and numerous nieces and nephews. In honor of Steven's service to his country, a graveside service with Military Honors will be held at Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery 5550 Bagging Plant Rd. Dublin, VA 24084 at 1PM, Monday, December 28, 2020 with Pastor Greg Irby officiating. John M. Oakey & Son, Salem, is serving the Conner family. Service Details.
