Sterling David Martin

Sterling David Martin, 58, of Salem, passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2011. He was the proud owner and operator of Davids Hair Center in Salem for over 30 years. Preceding him in death was his mother, Betsy Altizer Martin; brother, John Howard Martin; aunts and uncles, Jackie Heath and husband, Bud, and Wallace Martin; and cousin, Jo Martin Thompson. His surviving family includes his wife of 37 years, Spring Martin; daughter, April Heather Martin Gish and husband, Larry Gish, Jr.; brothers, Jerry Martin, Tommy Martin, and Dean Martin; sisters, Kim Boone and Leslie Taylor; brothers-in-law, Ray Sheppard and Johnny Sheppard and wife, Melody; sister-in-law, Janet Cox; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. The Rev. Tony Atkinson will officiate.
