Stephen N. Galanes

Stephen N. Galanes, 83, of Salem, departed this life on July 21, 2013. He was born on June 17, 1930 to the late Nicholas and Estelle Galanes in Richmond, VA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, George and Bobby. He is survived by two daughters, Lauren Beth Galanes and Susan Galanes Mcmillan and husband, Andrew; son, Stephen Galanes, Jr. and wife, Judy; brother, Edwin Galanes and wife, Rita; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Stephen was a gentle, sweet man and will be missed. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, from 6 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, also in Salem.
