Stephanie Leigh Conner

Stephanie Leigh Hankins Conner, 56, of Salem, Va., went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. She was born on February 22, 1967, in Martinsville, Va. to Douglas and Sandra Hankins. Stephanie was a loving wife, mother and friend. She was a dedicated member of Lakeside Baptist Church and loved working with children in the Youth Ministry. She enjoyed spending time crafting and making gifts for her loved ones. Stephanie is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Robert Conner; three children, Matthew Hankins, Elizabeth Conner and Rachel Conner, as well as her parents and three brothers, Stephen Hankins, Michael Hankins and William Cricket Hankins. The family will welcome friends on Sunday, July 23, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Lakeside Baptist Church, Salem, with Pastor Carl Goodman officiating. Interment will be immediately following the service in Sherwood Memorial Park. Stephanies family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the caregivers at both Lewis Gale Medical Center and Good Samaritan Hospice for the compassionate care given in her final days.
