Stefanie Uebrig, 57, of Salem, Virginia, was called home on April 20, 2026.
Stefanie was born on June 13, 1968, in Hagen, Germany, and immigrated to the United States with her parents as a child.
Her greatest joys were her children, family, beloved dogs, Athena and Thilo, and her cat, Freddie Mercury. She especially cherished her role as “Omi,” a name that reflected both her German heritage and the deep love she had for her grandchildren. Stefanie spent much of her career as a receptionist in the medical field, where her warm smile and compassion left a lasting impression on both patients and colleagues. She also enjoyed life’s simple comforts, listening to Huey Lewis and Queen, and watching favorite films like Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and Jaws. She was proud of her German roots and traditions, which remained close to her heart throughout her life.
She was known for her kind heart, listening ear, and her steady, unwavering support for those she loved. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family and the comfort she brought to those around her. Her memory will live on in the many lives she touched and the love she gave so freely.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Udo Uebrig (Rosemarie Uebrig), Günter Hillmann (Helene Hillmann)
Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Ingeborg Uebrig and Jurgen Uebrig; children, Steven Thompson (Paige Thompson), Jessica Winfield (Tylor Winfield), Reagan Uebrig, and Sophia Uebrig; brother, Sebastian Uebrig (Kirsten Uebrig); nephew, Soren Uebrig; and grandchildren, Serena Thompson and Emmett Winfield.
The family will hold a private Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 9th, 2026, for family and close friends.
