Sherrill W. Vance

Sherrill Wayne Vance, 66, of Salem, VA passed away Monday, December 13, 2010. He was born May 5, 1944 in Warriormine, WV, son of the late Herman and Kansas Lester Vance. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters and their spouses, Edith and Charles Smith, Ruth and Harless Patterson and Nancy Carol Vance, and his brother-in-law Eddie Gallimore. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Jaynne K. Vance; daughter Dana Rodgers and her husband, Andrew; three grandchildren, Kayla Amos, Ryan and Brenna Rodgers; great-grandchildren, Madison and Ethan Amos; sisters, Jean Gallimore of Beaufort, SC and June Meador, married to Sherwood Meador, of Roanoke. Memorial services will be conducted at 5 pm Friday, December 17, 2010 at the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son, 305 Boulevard, Salem, VA. The family will receive friends following the service until 7 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice.
