Shelby Jean Wyatt

Shelby Jean Wyatt, 60, of Hardy, Va., passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026.

Shelby was born on Saturday, June 11, 1966, in Roanoke, Va., to the late Martha Jo Lovern and Junior Erving Lovern, I. In addition to her parents, Shelby was preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry Clay “Hank” Wyatt, Sr.; sister, Sally Jo Scott; and brother, Junior Erving Lovern, II.

Shelby lived her life with kindness and compassion. She dedicated herself to giving to others and helping anyone who needed it. Shelby loved her family immensely, especially her beloved children and grandkids. She also adored her precious weenie dogs, who brought her much joy. Shelby will be dearly missed by everyone she touched in life, most of all by her beloved family.

Left to cherish Shelby’s memory are her daughters, Kari (Robert) Gunn and Lisa Robertson; sisters, Vickey (Keith) Hodge and Opal Haupt; and her 11 grandbabies.

A service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, with Pastor Dwight Green officiating. Friends are invited for a period of visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service. Interment will follow the service at East Hill Cemetery, 730 E. Main Street in Salem.
